The other day (August 23) to be exact, we experienced a freak hail storm. One in which brought flash flooding and high winds. We don’t often experience hail this large but the quarter size hail came screaming down from the heavens in a fury pelting everything in it’s path. Unfortunately, some of our plants took a hard hit. Here is some of the damage.
I know this doesn’t look like quarter size but this is what was left 4 hours later. It’s didn’t melt all that much.
Luckily my bonsai’s faired pretty well. I think that the only one that really endured any damage was my Cotoneaster which I expect to make a comeback. This was the same one that I chopped down to the trunk just a month ago.
